Robert Mester is a 23-year veteran of the Marine Undersea industry and has logged over 5,000 dives. He is highly experienced in undersea exploration and related technologies.  His area of expertise ranges from location and recovery of historic submerged artifacts and undersea technology development to law enforcement forensics and State and Federal maritime legislation.

Some of Robert’s projects and accomplishments include:

• Location for recovery of a WWII era B-17 bomber lost in the boreal forests of Labrador

• Location, exploration and ongoing salvage of a 17th century armed freighter carrying a battalion of infantry to Uruguay in the early 1800’s.

• Location for recovery of The S.S. Islander reported to be carrying $12 million in gold lost when this Yukon gold rush passenger ship goes down in 1901.

• Spanish submerged cultural resources on the English Banks, Uruguay; graveyard to 1,000 ships.

• Ace Award 1991 for the underwater documentary, “Gertie Gallops Again.”  A documentary about the Old Tacoma Narrows Bridge, Tacoma, Washington. 

• Nomination and approval for placement of the old Tacoma Narrows bridge to the National, State and City registries of historic places.

• Location of Lord Horatio Nelson’s favorite sloop, Agamemnon, which contains the only known cannon to survive from the Battle of Trafalgar.

• 1995, was involved in the search, location and identification of the Japanese submarine I-52 at a depth of 17,067 feet.

• 1997 Presented seminars on Underwater Archeology.
