The
combination of undersea technology and the adventure of search,
identification and hands-on preservation make science and related
history truly come alive for those students who desire to experience
and work in the marine environment.
UAS currently is working in partnership
with the Naval Undersea Museum Foundation and the Bainbridge Island
High School on a Remote Operated Vehicle (ROV) science project for the
spring of 2006. UAS personnel are working with the teachers of
the Marine Sciences, Physics and AP Physics classes to develop a
program where students build ROVs. The students, working in small
teams, will design and construct their own ROVs for actual use in
shallow waters to accomplish specifics tasks and goals. This
program clearly demonstrates the scientific principles that the
students have been learning during their normal course of studies.
During the summer of 2005, Underwater Admiralty Services partnered with
the Museum of Flight and conducted an Introduction to Scuba Diving and
Microgravity Program for the students in the Aerospace Camp
Experience. The program was highly successful and has been
expanded for the summer of 2006.

Internships are available where senior high school and college students
can participate in every aspect of large and small scale maritime
projects including: admiralty law, marine geology, geo physics,
biology, chemistry, history and culture, high-tech communications, and
cutting edge undersea technology.
In 2002 UAS help develop a pilot project with the Orting School
District that focuses on science and the marine environment.
UAS continues to provide seminars and education on undersea
technologies to law enforcement and government agencies.
