| The
submersible as its being deployed for the TBD-1 #0353 search mission. |
Approaching
the TBD-1 #0353 from the front, a slight cross current exists |
 |
 |
| Coming in for
a closer look, a snagged lobster pot and a twisted pile of rope are
visible on the left. |
Swinging
around the tail of the plane, a detached piece of the pilot's canopy
was found. |
|
|
 |
 |
On the
previous image and this one you can still see the distinctive star
insignia on the fuselage.
|
After
retrieving the detached canopy the submersible returns to the surface,
the mission completed successfully. |

A view form
inside the submersible where a discussion concerning which artifact to
recover takes place. |

 |
| Rising above
the TBD-1 a better view is found as the plane rests silently on the
bottom. |
Swinging to
the right the cockpit and wing are clearly seen. |
