Image of the submersible resting on the aft deck of the Harbor Branch vessel Robert Mester with the recovered canopy.

The submersible as its being deployed for the TBD-1 #0353 search mission. Approaching the TBD-1 #0353 from the front, a slight cross current exists
Coming in for a closer look, a snagged lobster pot and a twisted pile of rope are visible on the left. Swinging around the tail of the plane, a detached piece of the pilot's canopy was found.


On the previous image and this one you can still see the distinctive star insignia on the fuselage.

After retrieving the detached canopy the submersible returns to the surface, the mission completed successfully.
Coming in for a closer look, a snagged lobster pot and a twisted pile of rope are visible on the left. A view form inside the submersible where a discussion concerning which artifact to recover takes place.
Rising above the TBD-1 a better view is found as the plane rests silently on the bottom. Swinging to the right the cockpit and wing are clearly seen.
