UAS has been assisting the Squaxin
Island Tribe with their
acoustic tracking of their Coho Salmon releases. Working together
with technical dive teams
from SCRET, Submerged Cultural Resource Exploration Team, and other
technical
and volunteer dive teams, acoustic sensors have been placed in the
northern
section of Tacoma Narrows. Recovery of those sensors has
then been able
to provide the Squaxin Island Tribe fisheries biologists with valuable
information to further their research and studies.
