The prices listed below are from July of 1997. Remember that these are the "low season" prices so they may be a few dollars more in the high season ( Dec. 15- April 15 ). These prices are based on the exchange rate as of the 20th of July 1997. (One U.S. dollar = 7.7 pesos) (One Canadian dollar = 5.4 pesos)</h4> <h4> <font size=+2>T</font>he Puerto Vallarta hotels listed here are <u>not</u> 5 star, but they are clean, safe and totally adequate. I have never had anything stolen from my hotel room and only once in the last ten years have I seen a cockroach, (and boy was it a big one!). Some of these places are right on or near the ocean while others are a 10 minute walk, a good way to burn off the calories from all those margaritas! Most of the hotels listed below are priced from about $6.00 u.s. - $12.00 u.s. for one person. They have daily maid service and friendly English speaking staff. They all have private bathrooms with hot water and all hotels supply purified drinking water. </h4> <h4><font size=+2>T</font>hough I have never made reservations ahead of time for any of these hotels, you can call them if you would like.
